Rowen Locke has achieved his dream of becoming a Knight of the Crane, and he now bears Knightswrath, the legendary sword of Fâyu Jinn. But the land remains torn, and though Rowen suffers doubts, he would see it healed. His knightly order is not what it seems, though, and allies remain thin. When Rowen and his friends seek an alliance with the forest-dwelling Sylvs, a tangle of events results in a midnight duel that teaches Rowen a dangerous lesson and leaves him with a new companion of uncertain loyalties. The sadistic Dhargots still threaten the kingdoms, but another menace lurks in the shadows, playing a game none can see. As Rowen struggles to prove his worth - to his allies and to himself - chaos raises its hand to strike. A price must be paid, and not even the wielder of Knightswrath will remain untouched.

Knightswrath The Dragonkin Trilogy Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Michael Meyerhofer Craig Beck LLC Red Adept Publishing Books

This is a series that keeps getting better. Michael Meyerhofer created an interesting and complex world in "Wytchfire" and now that the world-building is done, he's really letting loose and having fun spinning a thrilling story. "Knightswrath" digs deeper into the origins of the titular sword and explores the relationship between Rowan and his shrinking circle of allies. Everything in this book is bigger--the trees, the battles, the enemies. The first full-scale battle with giant Olgrym warriors was particularly terrifying and left me flipping the pages as fast as I could to see if anyone could possibly survive. Meyerhofer also continues to write strong, wise, and wily female characters who can hold their own in a world at war. I flew through this book and wish I could get my hands on an early copy of book three!

loved it... onward to reading the third book now
I thoroughly enjoyed book two and can't wait till the third installment is completed, so that I could finish the story. I would recommend this trilogy to all.
This was slow moving and bounced around I thought some of the chapters would never end.. After thisI'll pass on the third book
I enjoyed the pace of this book.. The character development approaches reality. No one is completely good or bad. The main character comes closest (flawed mostly by a very quick temper. He's "Rocky" from Rocky1 & Rocky2, but he's fallen for a bad girl from the old neighborhood, instead of the sweet shy "good" girl. He isn't the smartest, biggest, strongest or luckiest; so I can't wait for the next book. To see how he will overcome great odds, fulfill destiny and fill the shadow of an unforgetable hero.
This is a great read for fantasy lovers. The only downside was the grammatical errors. The author would greatly benefit from the use of a better editor. Otherwise, I am enjoying the series and am reading the 3rd book. The characters are well developed and likable (or not likable depending).
This is definitely not a second book let down. The story picks right up from the last book, and after a little setup, the action will keep the pages flying. The characters are very interesting and complex, the plot seems to expand, which leads to multiple points of view. Not very often does a second book get more creative than the first, but this sure did. Excellent read.
Please read this series. I want the author to succeed so he can write more fantasy and I can read more of his stuff! Such a superbly crafted series with a nice mix of traditional, amusing and complex characters moving through a well paced plot. I love how traditional fantasy elements have been scattered across a truly unique world. Like many of us, Rowen finds that the world doesn't live up to his childhood ideals. As he tries to achieve his ideal of knighthood, he finds that his order is corrupt. He finds that the "right" thing to do is champion dangerous sorcerers whom most of the world fear as the greatest of evil. As he grows his party to include old friends who actually fought for the wrong side at one point, the group discovers there will be a battle on 2 fronts. The first with the immediate enemy but the worst with an enemy who has been lying in wait for thousands of years...I CANNOT WAIT for the next book. Hopefully the author writes faster than GRRM ;-)
